WHICH PRODUCT IS RIGHT FOR YOU?

Below are some details on the PDF and Print on Demand options available to you, which might help you to choose which product is right for you.

The Watermarked PDF is what we refer to as the Digital Edition. The watermark is very small and appears at the very bottom of every page on the left hand side. It will show your account name and an order number; it will not block or cover any of the text inside the book. The pages have a white background.

The Hardcover, Premium Color Book is what we refer to as the Collector’s Edition. It has a collector’s badge on the front cover and a gold spine effect. The pages inside are printed in full colour with a background on premium paper. The book has a glossy hardback cover. Please note: There is not a Collector’s Edition of the Watermarked PDF, and so if you choose the “Watermarked PDF + Hardcover, Premium Color Book” option, the PDF you download does not have the full colour background.

The Hardcover, Standard Color Book is what we refer to as the Hardback Edition. It has a standard badge on the front cover and a blue spine. The pages inside are printed in colour on a white background and on white paper. The book has a glossy hardback cover.

The Softcover, Standard Color Book is what we refer to as the Softback Edition. It has a standard badge on the front cover and a blue spine. The pages inside are printed in colour on a white background and on white paper. The book has a glossy softback cover.

PLEASE BE ADVISED: At times the print on demand books will need to be updated and may be temporarily withdrawn from the product range. This process can take a few months to complete, and will become available as soon as the update is complete. We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.

Watch a 7 minute video (below) to discover more about the print on demand books and watermarked pfd.

Hi Martin.
I only discovered D100 a few days ago while watching the Geek Gamers Youtube channel.
I have been looking to get into solo RPG's and your system is the one I decided to go with.
I purchased Book1 & Book6 the world builder.
I also noticed you had the Computer companion and Adventures companion on Steam so I purchased them last night.
I realize that the Steam version does not incorporate the world builder yet, but can I still use the P&P world builder alongside the Computer companion?
For instance on the world builder I get a quest in a dungeon, can I then use the Computer companion to generate that dungeon?
Cheers

Hi Rob, the computer companion does not yet support the world builder quests. I am going to ask the software developer if a random dungeon button can be added at the play menu, until they get to adding the world builder to the companion. This will allow players to create a dungeon without quest objectives, allowing players to at least build dungeon maps. I hope this helps.

You can't upgrade from PDF to print. They have no way to remove your access to the PDF if you ever downloaded it, which would essentially make the PDF free for anyone who upgraded.

Seeing is believing.
Superb product.
Swift shipment.

Hardcover covers are genuinely pleasurable. Sturdy, glossy. A little taller than average.
Binding appears ideal. At only about 70-80 pages, not a lot of weight if stored upright. I don't expect trouble.
Stiff heavyweight paper, beyond industry norm if you ask me. Nice matt surface, no glare trouble for reading.
Efficient page usage. There isn't a lot of pointless dead space. The artwork is not extensive but is stunning.

These might be some of the best gamebooks in existence at the physical level. I will be adding this exact review to my other 3 purchases because I feel the same about all 4.

Is World Builder compatible with a party or a companion? I like the idea of exploring the world with a buddy.

The description of the Scout Action in the rules says that after generating the Hex, you roll (based on your current hex's population) to find out if an Event occurs. However, the summary of the Scout Action on p103 indicates that an event always happens when you Scout. Which is it?

Also, several times it says to modify the % likelihood of an event occurring based on whether the current hex has a Settlement / Road / River, but I don't see where it says how to make that modification.

Thank you!

Hi Jason, after a scout action, you check to see if an event occurs based on population. The modifiers for an event occurring are at the bottom of table (WB) T and on the map key.

Does this combine the Overworld questing and the original Dungeons or does it remove the dungeons entirely?

Hi Sarah, in the world builder you explore and find quest positions, then you perform those quests when your adventurer is in that part of the world, using the main D100 Dungeon game rules. So the world builder doesn't replace the D100 Dungeon core rules, but expands them.

Received the right cover, but the content is the heroquest compendium for weird reasons.
I'm going to check with DTRPG directly. What a bummer.

THIS IS SO MUCH FUN!
I've had the World Builder book for about 2 wks. My adventurer has searched around his home hex, discovered 6 Quests, traveled to and completed two of them. He's helped strangers, caught cart rides, hid from werewolves, and been blessed by gods.
This world is alive and the stories generated are worth writing down. I've creating a journal based on the calendar and the whole system fuels the imagination.
WELL DONE MR. KNIGHT

Hi Martin. Quick question... When I have collected/looted all the items for a "Hand In" quest, do I have to return to the hex where I received the quest in order to hand in the items and thus complete the quest?

Hi Brent, the item [Hand In] happens in the quest's location, so in the hex you have recorded the quest code. The world builder is designed so that you learn of a hex that has a quest and this is also where the person you hand the item/s to.However, this is an interesting thought, perhaps for a house rule/variant. You would need to record which hex you was in when the quest was discovered and make it back to that hex to complete the quest.

Yes! I'm brand new to the game, so I'm not sure if this would work in every situation, but the way I see it, sometimes you hear about an NPC in another hex who needs your assistance, and other times yo receive a quest directly from an NPC who is hiring you. In the case of the latter, it would be a round-trip quest.

The simplest way to house rule it would be when you generate a Hand-In quest, you also roll a d6 and on a 1-3, it's a round-trip quest. Maybe round-trip quests would also get a bonus to the P¢ reward equal to the d6 roll, to make it more worth your while.

I might try this out and see how it goes. Cheers!

I meet with my "hand in" person before heading into the dungeon on the hex the quest is located. If there is a settlement "we meet in the Inn" to discuss the quest, and later to hand over the items after the delve.
But the round trip mechanic sounds fun too.

Hi, I couldn't get the file to work efficiently using text and decided to use a image, if I can discover a work around it might get updated in the future. However, for now it is available in the World Builder pdf download sheets on the MK GAMES website:https://www.mk-games.co.uk/d100dungeon. The downloads are free so I hope this helps, you will also find other free downloads for D100 Dungeon there too.

There shouldn't be any reason why you can download if you have completed checkout for the pdf. If you check in your (Account - My Library - All Titles) it should be there for you to download. Let me know how you get on and if you need any further assistance.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
